I printed this fairly complex model to participate in the November 3D Printing Event. Unlike some participants whose goal is to print as many objects as possible, I prefer to print a few objects but as successful as possible, and by setting myself challenges. The first challenge was to find filament with the best possible wood effect, well aware that in 3D printing we will never be able to obtain a rendering with wooden thread. And considering this last point I would say that I find the effect rather successful (the real color is darker than in the photos). This is my longest print: 41 hours at a speed of 60 mm/s (so as not to lose too much quality). I printed the model at the maximum scale for my printer: 249.99% (i.e. a dimension of 250 mm in height). I set the infill to 20%, but chose the "lightning" pattern to save more than 100 g of material as well as hours of printing. I left the standard layer height: 0.20 mm. I chose "normal" type supports, with an overhang angle of 55° (instead of 45° by default) to have a little less. To remove the supports, I did as much as possible without tools but I had to use pliers for those located very inside the model. I then used a scraping (but not scratching) sponge to remove the threads, and a cutter to deburr, taking care to cut and not scrape so as not to make white marks. I couldn't sand because it whitens the surface. This post-finishing phase took me 3.5 hours because there were so many supports to remove! But I don't regret the time spent because the result is better than I imagined. --- J'ai imprimé ce modèle assez complexe pour participer au November 3D Printing Event. J'ai réglé le remplissage à 20 %, mais en choisissant le motif "éclair" pour gagner plus de 100 g de matière ainsi que des heures d'impression. J'ai laissé la hauteur de couche standard : 0,20 mm. J'ai choisi des support de type "normal", avec un angle de porte-à-faux de 55° (au lieu de 45° par défaut) pour en avoir un peu moins. Pour enlever les support, j'ai fait le maximum sans outil mais j'ai dû utiliser une pince pour ceux situés très à l'intérieur du modèle. J'ai ensuite utilisé une éponge grattante (mais non rayante) pour enlever les fils, et un cutter pour ébavurer, en prenant soin de couper et non gratter afin de ne pas faire de marques blanches. Je n'ai pas pu poncer car cela blanchit la surface. Cette phase de post-finition m'a pris 3.5 heures tant il y avait de supports à enlever ! Mais je ne regrette pas le temps passé car le résultat est supérieur à ce que j'imaginais.
