Our recent surveys have shown that many users have faced storage limitations due to timelapse videos and Playback videos occupying cloud storage space.
To enhance your experience, we’re excited to announce upcoming optimizations to the Timelapse and Playback videos. The best part? Timelapse and playback videos will no longer count against your cloud storage quota! This means more room for the files that matter most to you—like private models and sliced files.

Here’s a breakdown of the changes:

Major upgrade: Free up your cloud storage!

Timelapse & Playback videos won’t use cloud storage anymore. Starting May 20, 2025, all timelapse and playback videos will be stored separately. The space they previously occupied will be instantly released—giving you more storage flexibility for private models and sliced files.

Timelapse optimization

New storage rules:

For videos captured on or after May 20, 2025: Timelapse files will no longer count toward cloud storage. Regular users can store up to 15 videos, while premium users will enjoy an increased limit of 100.

History videos retention:

Timelapse videos recorded before May 20, 2025 will be retained until August 1, 2025. Please download any files you wish to keep by navigating to Profile > Cloud storage > Timelapses. After this date, the access entry will be hidden.

Smart auto-overwrite:

New timelapse files will automatically replace the oldest ones (no manual deletion needed), ensuring efficient use of storage without worrying about running out of space for new uploads.
Shared community content remains unaffected: Videos already shared in the community or groups will stay available. Deleting historical timelapse videos will not affect shared content.

Playback adjustments

From May 20, 2025, historical playback videos will also be retained until August 1, 2025. Please download any replays you’d like to keep before August 1, 2025. After this, the Playback access will be hidden.
Going forward, the Playback feature will no longer be updated. On first/second-generation smart boxes and built-in box devices, the Auto Recording & Upload to Cloud options will be removed.
