We recently had the opportunity to interview Mirko, a talented 3D designer from Serbia who goes by the name "Master Printer". With over 6 years of experience in 3D printing, he has gained recognition for his unique "Text Flip" designs that fuse texts and objects together in intriguing ways.Mirko's Early Beginnings in 3D PrintingMirko has always had a passion for technology and was eager to experiment when desktop 3D printers first emerged on the consumer market. Small successes like seeing others appreciate his work fueled his motivation to keep designing. “It was something I had to do in order to create a product I imagined. Step by step, I slowly learned the basics of 3D modelling, and from there I gravitated to other styles, eventually leading to the creation of the Text Flip - the unique combination of two objects into one.” Mirko said.He began teaching himself the basics, taking a step-by-step approach to learn software like Tinkercad. Through trial and error, Mirko developed his modelling skills and style. He utilises various software like Shapr3d, Tinkercad, Rhino3D and Blender depending on his needs. While he didn't share any specific techniques, it's clear his signature "Text Flip" design principle combining words and objects is a huge part of his identity. While Mirko did not share any step-by-step techniques, it's evident his signature "Text Flip" approach is a fundamental part of his creative process and style.By blending words seamlessly with recognizable everyday objects, Mirko creates designs that are both visually appealing and thought-provoking. Achieving over 5k downloads gave him immense pride and a reminder to persist even when unmotivated. “My first model that went viral. More than 5k downloads and counting. The series of designs demonstrated Mirko's incredible attention to detail and mastery of various modeling skills. From multifaceted sculptures to designs fusing delicate natural forms with inspirational content, each piece spotlighted his ongoing evolution as an artist. His adept use of the "Text Flip" principle to seamlessly weave words into familiar household objects or icons from philosophy was on full display.
