Description

This is my soldering fan. I wanted something that had a minimalist sort of look, could fit on a gridifinity base, and was no bigger width and depth wise than standard gridfinity so that things could stack next to it and in front of it without impeding on the squares around it.

BOM (Bill of Materials)

Standard 120mm computer fan

PMW 12v Motorcotroller like this one - https://www.aliexpress.com/i/4000768252734.html

2 x 3mm heat inserts and 10mm screws for them.

4 x 3mm x 5mm self tapping screws.

12v adaptor for power supply

10mm thick carbon filter sheet

Assembly

Assembly is pretty straight foward, because the PMW controller i used is designed to change a motors direction i just permanently bypass the switch as i show in the pictures so it will only ever go in the direction that works. Apart from that just wire the 12v adaptor to the controller and the fan to the controller output. If this design gets some traction i'll upload some more of the steps i took and more of the build.
