Universal Carry Handle for Bundled Gear

I designed this universal carry handle after purchasing a surplus military field bed that came without a carry bag. I needed a simple solution to make it easier to transport, especially for travel or camping trips.

The idea evolved into something more versatile: a handle that can be used to carry almost any bundled items, like foldable camping stools, skis, or other gear that can be strapped together. This design allows you to balance and secure your load, then carry it comfortably with one hand.

Design Features:

Two-part construction: Improves strength and printability. I glued my parts together for a permanent bond, but you can leave them separate if you prefer a modular setup.

Universal slot system: Accommodates most standard tie-down straps.

Print Settings:

Layer height: 0.2 mm

Infill: 15%

Perimeters: 2

Supports: Not used

While no supports are required, the overhangs around the strap slots may need minor cleanup. The handle slot also showed slight overhang artifacts, but nothing that affected functionality. I printed mine quickly the night before a trip, and it held up without any issues. For more durability, consider increasing the infill or number of perimeters.

How to Use:

Thread tie-down straps through the provided holes.

Slide the handle into the underside slot.

Wrap the straps around the bundled item(s).

Tighten the straps securely.

Lift and go!

This is the first version of the handle, and while it works well for my use case, I’m open to feedback. If there’s interest, I’ll consider releasing improved or alternative versions in the future.
