The material used was PLA, specifically I used SUNLU white PLA for no particular reason other than it was the roll I decided to order at some point.

What differs from default?

Infill density was lowered to 10% reduce filament use.

Infill patter was set to adaptive cubic to r educe filament use while not sacrificing strength.

No brim no support, no explanation needed.

Why does this exist?

I had a 1kg spool of PLA with some prints on it, though I wasn’t sure how much was used but it definitely had more than 50%. For the price I paid at the time of like $16.99 (USD), my aim was to get my need of another trash bin that can take mini bags within 1 day and at a lower overall cost than the first nice one I saw off Amazon with overnight delivery ($11.99, and it had a hinged lid). I didn’t add any lid due to not wanting to use external materials and at no greater level of effort to me other than tapping some spots on my phone screen like Amazon(but mostly I didn’t think that roll had the filament to make it/ full build plate I can’t attend the printer till I get home which would be should have ordered off Amazon territory). I had a 10H 10 Min 28 Sec print 1st go no issues. Overall worked well for my specific need but improvements for personal useability without the worry of 100g-200g more filament use in account and some print time.

The file has no words but the picture has words, why?

The words can be added on your desired slicer by adding a negative part, specifically the text option (on orca slicer) and put what you want though based on size and word choice your letter may have overhangs that cause issues and small support will be a struggle to remove.

Improvements?

• The walls are too thin, you can see though the bin in the sunlight, the pattern is either pleasant or very ugly depending on taste though with a bag inside this mitigates that so this option is a personal choice but does cost more filament.

o Another option is simply filling the whole thing with 100% infill

• The words in this print were set on the seam position, why? Literally no good reason at all I stared at it and said okay oh well and now looking at it I only think this is ugly but realistically this is an outside bin/ trash bin so functionality but still a cope for a bad decision.

o Place the words on the opposite side

• Font size: if you choose to use a greater infill you can increase the depth of the letter and the font size, this will require supports depending on letters but if you have enough depth and height auto tree supports and a nice set of needle nose pliers can solve this issue.

• A simple lid can be made and depending on your desire of outside material use screws or bolt attachments can be added on a hinge to make the bin better overall if your concern is less can I get something to put trash in as fast and within the same cost as Amazon with the same amount of effort.
