ABOUT THIS

I designed this on tinkercad. It is a very simple model, and it is powered by any Estes 24mm motor. if you look at the files, you can see that i have not included an engine adapter. This is because i used several layers of masking tape on the end of the motors to make it fit. IMPORTANT- after launch, allow engine to cool for about a minute. Engines get extremely hot during flight, roughly 2700 degrees- celsius. (4892 fahrenheit). also, DO NOT FORGET to put recovery wadding between the motor and parachute/ streamer/ nosecone. if not done, the parachute/streamer will Get burnt to a crisp. you will need an Estes porta pad E launch pad and an E launch controller.

You will need-

1x e size engine holder (2).stl

3x falcon 9 black bottom v2.stl

2x falcon 9 launch lUG V3.1.stl

ASSEMBLY

For the assembly, you will need-

hot glue sticks
hot glue gun
masking tape
all parts
paper
shock cord
12 inch parachute
launch rod- 6 mm (comes with porta pad E launch pad)
cardboard tube- 32 mm diameter, 13.4 inches long.
hobby knife
pencil
ruler

Get cardboard tube, paint if desired.
glue "falcon 9 black bottom v2.stl" to bottom of tube using hot glue, equally spaced around.
cut a slit 97.4 mm above the bottom using hobby knife, after marking with a pencil. insert thinner end of "e size engine holder (2).stl" into slit, with thicker side at the bottom.
use masking tape to hold "e size engine holder (2).stl" in place.
cut paper into a small rectangle, marking them in thirds vertically with the numbers 1,2,3 along the way.
put glue on numbers 1 and 2.
quickly place shock cord over numbers 1 and 2, fold on the line.
glue number 3 over that to secure in place.
put glue on outside of paper and place about 34 mm down into top of tube, with the shock cord on the outside of the tube. hold in place with a pencil until set.
double knot other end of shock cord onto the nose cone, on the bottom.
take parachute out, and collect the strings together. slide through section that has the shock cord tied on.
slide parachute through string on the other side. pull tight.
glue one launch lug to bottom of rocket, horizontally with guidance from launch rod for alignment.
glue other launch lug to top of rocket, making sure that you use the launch rod for alignment of the two launch lugs.
your falcon 9 rocket is now complete!

LAUNCH INSTRUCTIONS

insert engine into rocket bottom with hole on the bottom. insert ignitor into hole, use plug to hold ignitor inside.
assemble launch pad, wrap masking tape around launch rod about 4 inches high.
slide rocket onto launch rod using launch lugs.
clip the clips on the end of the launch controller to each of the wires on ignitor.
back up until wire on launch controller runs out. place key into hole on launch controller, press down hard. a red light shall turn on. this means that the launch controller is armed.
press button on launch controller, the rocket should launch. it will go about 970 ft (323 meters) high.
