Design Concept:

The Filament Check Gage is designed to quickly assess the approximate amount of filament remaining on a spool. Its simple step gauge allows users to easily determine fullness levels with clear numerical markers.

I saw this and decided to print one for myself as it is a useful tool. I did, however, discover that while this works well for most brands of printer filament spools, it does not for the "Ender" spools. While the outer flange diameter of these are the standard 194 - 200mm, the inner spool lug diameters and flange widths differ significantly which will significantly alter the accuracy of this particular guage. I will be posting a make which can be used with the Ender spools, and possibly other brands out there.

Purpose:

Ideal for makers and 3D printing enthusiasts who want to swiftly gauge their filament stock without complex tools.

Printing Suggestions:

Print with a standard PLA or any other material.

Recommended layer height: 0.2mm for best detail visibility.

Use contrasting colors for numbers and lines to improve visibility.

Assembly Instructions:

No assembly required. Simply place at the filament spool centerline touching the outermost filament layer to check the remaining quantity, keeping in mind that the numbers represent weight in grams, and are an approximation only.
