A spinner so you can see your extruder working. Plus it looks cool. I originally modified my KE with the LiteBurner shroud because I wanted a quieter print and I liked the added part light. After a while using it, what I didn't like was that it made it a pain to disassemble the print head if I needed to check/clean/fix something. It was also a little on the heavy side, which is not really want you want for your printer. After looking around for a bit, the only other shroud I could find that fit the bill was one called FatBurner. It's based on LiteBurner and even though the author didn't use an LED himself, he did make a modified version that still had the mount point. What it didn't have was something on the front to look neat. When I originally did this I used a green LED for the parts light, and I always wanted to modify the shroud with a GL theme. I used transparent PETG so the light would refract through it and it is a cool looking effect. So I made this for FatBurner to up its coolness factor. This is the first real model I have made, and I did so using the tools in my slicer.

Print Settings

Printed on my KE with a .4mm nozzle, 3 walls, .12mm layer height, 15% infill, in PETG.
Supports are needed, but if you set your top z distance to .24 the come away easily.
Use a brim if you have adhesion issues.

Also, if you aren't a GL fan, print it in silver with a black background and pretend it's a Tie Fighter that's been hit with blaster fire.
