This is the V2 and final version of the top‑mount system. While the first version performed well in normal use, it had one critical flaw: at maximum Z height, the bracket created an obstruction that prevented the gantry from reaching full travel. The X‑axis would make contact with the bracket, stopping the printer from completing tall prints.
This new V2 design eliminates that issue entirely. There is zero interference anywhere across the full Z range, even at absolute maximum height. It is now a complete, obstruction‑free solution.

V2 Design Overview
The redesign wasn’t a patch—it was a full rebuild. After printing and testing the original top‑mount concept, several structural and geometric weaknesses became clear. Once corrected, the printed prototype still lacked the rigidity and load‑handling confidence needed for long‑term use, especially with a fully loaded CFS.
V2 was engineered from scratch to solve all of these issues while keeping the compact top‑mount footprint.

Design Objectives
• Maintain a compact, space‑efficient top‑mount configuration
• Increase structural rigidity
• Improve load distribution
• Ensure a secure, glove‑like fit
• Handle rear‑biased weight when the CFS is fully loaded
• Remove all Z‑axis obstruction (V2’s major improvement)

Dimensions
282.77 mm × 122.75 mm × 114.50 mm
Sized to remain compact while adding the structural mass needed for reinforcement.

Structural Improvements in V2
Triangular Geometry Preserved
The triangular form factor remains for its strength‑to‑size efficiency and minimal footprint.
Internal Reinforcement Fins
Integrated fins inside the body increase torsional rigidity and eliminate flex under load.
Fully Enclosed Connecting Section
The original open connection was replaced with a closed, boxed structure.
This dramatically improves stiffness and load transfer.
Rear Load Management
With up to 4 kg of filament in the CFS, the system becomes top‑rear heavy.
V2 addresses this by allowing the rear edge of the mount to sit flush against the cabinet’s solid back panel.
This contact point adds stability and prevents micro‑shifts or rearward tipping.
Full Z‑Axis Clearance (V2 Fix)
The most important improvement:
• No contact with the X‑axis
• No obstruction at maximum Z height
• Full build volume is now accessible without risk of collision

Print & File Information
• The included 3MF is pre‑configured for PLA
• You may switch to PETG if preferred
• Print as provided, or adjust to your setup
• Tested for 72+ continuous hours with no structural issues
• STL included for modification, reinforcement, or customization

Installation Procedure
1. Remove the plastic caps on both ends of the top bar.
2. Remove the screws securing the top bar.
3. Each plastic end has two screws — remove only one side.
4. Slide the Left and Right V2 Top Mount pieces onto the bar.
5. Reassemble the bar and secure all screws.
6. Orient the filament tubes in front of the CFS.
No permanent modification to the printer is required.
