Tired of scraping off leftover filament from your build plate? This Build Plate Cleaning Pad is an easy, no-hassle way to remove thin layers of stuck filament without damaging your surface.

Just print the pad right on top of the stuck filament using slightly higher nozzle and bed temperatures (about 5–10 °C more than your usual settings). This helps the new filament bond to the stuck residue. When the print’s done, let the build plate cool down completely, then peel the pad off using the corner tab, the residue lifts right off with it!

Design Concept

This pad was designed as a gentle cleaning tool for your 3D printer’s build plate. The idea is simple: print a thin, flexible pad directly over any stuck filament, and let the fresh layers fuse slightly with the residue. Once the plate cools, the bond between the pad and the old filament is stronger than the bond to the plate, so everything peels away in one clean motion.

The two-layer (0.4 mm) structure keeps the pad flexible yet sturdy, while the grip tab with its small indent makes it easy to remove without tools.

Perfect for PEI, glass, or textured plates, it’s a quick and clean way to reset your print surface and keep your first layers sticking perfectly.
