Double-side wine cork trivet. The best and elegant way to upcycle wine corks. This is a remix of original "Wine Cork Trivet" published by Rikkers at Printables. When working with original model I found that it requires to use corks with more or less similar diameter. Scaling it to fit other corks leads to proportional increase of all other model parts and sometime may exceed printer bed size. So i created a parametric model that allows to create custom trivets. Remixed version can be used on both sides and since the cork is softer than a plastic it stands more securely on a surface.

Following parameters can be set:

Cork diameter
Cork height
Trivet base part height
Outer wall
Inner wall
Size of the inner thorn

Unfortunately Creality cloud did not aloow me to attach original Fusion360 project file where it is possible to customize model parameters. You can download it from Printables where i published it as well.

Attache here at CC a trivet main part with values pre-defined for corks of 21mm diameter 14mm height so the cork itself protrudes from the trivet by 2mm on both sides. An appropriate align tool is also attached.

I recommend to choose corks of a similar diameter +/- 1mm. Potentially increasing the size of the inner thorns which fix the cork inside the trivet may increase diameter variations.

To insert the cork into a trivet base please use the align tool. The tool is a sort of spacer that allows to insert the cork so it would be placed at the center of the trivet base part. The tool depends on most of model parametrs. So if you customize the trivet do not forget to export and print the aligh tool as well.

For better result I recommend to cut the wine cork with a sharp blade on both sides so the cork ends would be flat and smooth.
