Design Concept

These models showcase different infill patterns used in 3D printing. Designed as tiles labeled 'Lightning' and 'Gyroid,' each demonstrates a distinct structural pattern.

Purpose

This is a much more functional infill swatch/sample than I have seen around. I created it in Creality Print 6.2.

It can also be used to compare other settings as I do herein with the AI infill setting on one object but not the other.

You can clone the object and easily make changes for comparison by using the "By Object" view in settings. If you create multiple copies with different infill patterns or other settings remember to change the text for any of the cloned samples.

I have a CFS for multi-color printing but the design allows for only one filament change for text color if you do not have multi-color printing options.

Or you could just print this in one color. This could probably be adapted to other slicers if they allow settings by object but in any case you could print them one at a time if needed. You could always change the sizes of the object to accommodate more text space.

When editing the text by, right clicking on the text object, if it is too wide and doesn't fit on the cube, just edit the text and change Height until it fits-again only using by object settings - make sure you are not on global settings

Note: there is nothing keeping the text you enter matching with the settings, so double check this before printing and make sure you are not looking at the global settings since they could be different than the 'by object' setting for a specific object.

I created this in Creality Print 6.2 by creating a cube and then added a part (cube) to that same cube and they occupy the same space. Then I put the text on top so it can easily be edited and other settings changed by object.

You could also compare other settings by using the a different filament profile and compare it to another one but you probably don't need the 0 top layer settings for this.

Can also be used for educational and demonstration purposes, helping students or enthusiasts understand the advantages and applications of each infill type.

Printing Suggestions

Use a standard layer height and a moderate print speed to capture the intricate details of each pattern. Ensure your printer is well-calibrated.

No assembly required, simply print the models flat on the bed for optimal results
