This project started as a high-fidelity CAD exercise to reverse-engineer the original Ender 3 V3 KE toolhead cover. The goal was to create a flawless geometric foundation for future heavy customizations while ensuring perfect mechanical compatibility with the stock chassis.

Whether you need a direct replacement for a broken cover or want a clean slate for your own custom toolhead mods, this model delivers exact alignment.

What’s Included in the Package:

ORIGINAL_KE_HEAD_COVER (1:1 Stock Replica): Features every single aesthetic and structural detail of the factory-molded part. Matches the original dimensions perfectly.

MODIFIED_KE_HEAD_COVER: Modified to sit completely flat on the print bed, eliminating the need for supports on the front face, saving post-processing time and ensuring an immaculate surface finish.

Real-World Torture Testing & Tolerances 🌧️

A good design is defined by its real-world performance. All critical dimensions, mounting screw holes, and internal alignment guides have been thoroughly tested and fit perfectly on the first print.

To push the model's design tolerances to the absolute limit, the test parts were printed using highly degraded, wet filament (exposed to 70%–80% relative humidity for over 4 months on the spool). Even under these worst-case extrusion conditions, the part printed "enough well" and snapped straight into place without any mechanical binding.

Note: My current personal machine runs a heavily modified custom toolhead (utilizing a ceramic hotend upgrade, a K2 extruder stepper, and a custom dual-gear extruder drive system based on the DXC architecture), and the clearance on these covers still interfaces beautifully with the KE mounting points.
