Hi everyone. I hope you’re well. So, apart from spending my time as a Creality Cloud Community Helper; I do sometimes get to actually print and paint models! I needed something simple to occupy my hands and mind today so printed a small building brick box found in the cloud model library. It printed perfectly but when I removed it from the build plate, it got a bit scratched and sanding and finishing didn’t help with that either. So, I decided to paint it. I originally wanted to make it look wooden but it then developed after many costs and I decided to turn it into rusty metal. The filament used was matte black Creality CR series PLA on an Ender 3 V2 with a glass build plate. Paints were all Vallejo brand (the best in my humble opinion) and hand painted rather than airbrushed. I used 3 coats of grey primer and then 2 coats of concrete colour. I then lightly brushed random lines of brown sand colour then a thinned coat of dry rust in random areas. then mixed some dry dark slate pigment with some clear matte enamel and brushed that over. Finally, I dusted the box with dry natural sienna pigment and it was done. I’m pretty pleased with the effect and hope you like it too.
