Hello everyone. Today I am going to introduce a user to all of you. Her username is @raqkishi. Let's know more about her.

Self-introduction

I was born and bred in Brazil. I am an engineer by education with 20 years of professional experience in Hardware/Software design, data analytics, and public administration. My hobbies are gardening, reading, video gaming, and, of course, 3D printing. I joined the Creality community in August 2022.

The impression of 3D Printing

My first time learning about 3D printing was a long ago in a documentary about using this technology for medical purposes. I thought it was awesome. However, I started paying attention to 3D printing for personal use as I was watching a very popular nerdy TV show (some of you may know The Big Bang Theory) and it was about the challenge of having a 3D printer at home. This was not so long ago.

About Creality

I was introduced to Creality Cloud by my husband, he’s also an engineer and loves technology. He bought a Creality Ender-3 S1 and he joined the Cloud to share thoughts and tweaks about the printer.

For me 3D Printing is a very complex hobby – it requires a lot of knowledge in hardware, software, art design, marketing, and social communication to say some – therefore I need a lot of help and support. I feel Creality Cloud is heading to be a one-stop platform where 3D printing enthusiasts can find anything they need. I believe that Creality has the potential to create a such platform as it would be very synergetic with the 3D printer business. In practical terms, what l like most in Creality Cloud is the design contests – they are very motivating.

My first successful print

Frankly speaking, I still have not achieved a successful print - they always need some post-processing. Usually, I print models that are quite complex, so they require a lot of support and fine adjustments. I leave the simple prints to my dear husband – like the filament tests and benchmark prints.

The articulated dragon is an example of the complex model – I’m still trying to get a perfectly printed dragon.

My 3D printer

We have the Creality Ender-3 S1, and it’s my first printer. At the time of purchase, my husband wanted the Ender-3 S1 Pro, but it was not available yet in Brazil. After a few upgrades, we’re happy with this version.

Got 3rd place in the design contest

I was surprised and very happy to get 3rd place in the Pen Holder contest. I joined the contest thinking about doing fun and unusual model and I’m glad for the response to it. So much so that I submitted models for the other contests in the same spirit of having fun. Other contest entries (Loud Hands and La Mano Phone Stands). And other uses for the hand!

My designs

My first design was for the Pen Holder Design Contest. I had to learn how to use design software and that was not easy. From there, I have been designing other models using the same baseline. In the future, I intend to create different designs and share them with the Creality community. It would be nice from Creality if the design contests keep coming. They are very motivating.

3D printing in Brazil

In Brazil, 3D printing is widespread in the industry, and it is growing in popularity for home use. Most people that are already involved in 3D printing are enthusiasts, but everyone that sees a 3D print likes it and becomes very interested in having a printer some time in the future.

Why love 3D printing

What I love about 3D printing is that you can materialize your ideas in something tangible quickly. I know some people love 3D printing technical parts, tweaking hardware and software, upgrading the printers’ capability, etc. But in my case, I am more interested in the application part – the product of 3D printing and not the process of 3D printing. Therefore, what makes me insist on this hobby is the pleasure of having other people enjoy my designs.

Dream

For now, 3D printing is a hobby for me, but maybe we can make it into something to help people. The dream is that 3D printing is so easy that people could focus on the design and models and have a perfect print – like we have today with the paper print (we focus on what will be printed and not how it is printed).

To Creality

Creality is doing a great job in an evolving market. Firstly, providing reliable and user-friendly hardware, and now the Creality Cloud provides a very dynamic service platform. My suggestion to Creality is to keep up with both hardware and service platforms and always think about the whole ecosystem's usability.
