3D MODEL DESCRIPTION
EDIT AS OF JANUARY 2021!- I have uploaded a new pot/base (file name BIGGER BETTER BASE). It holds much more soil, sturdier and unlike the prior design, it does NOT require pegs. it's a definite improvement.
Hey everyone! Enjoy this Brain Planter design. It's actually an easy print, steps in the description. The brain stem/cerebellum acts as the pot.
My ivy has been doing well under indirect sunlight at my window.
The original anatomy model is from Versal at sketchfab, remixed heavily.
Lastly, I included a bottom planter that includes little pegs to keep the lid in place, and a version without pegs.
3D PRINTING SETTINGS
This looks more complicated than it is to print. The print top needs basic supports, I did about 70% overhang in cura, just areas touching the build plate, and that worked well
The 3d files are scaled currently to fit each other, so if you need to down-size it, make sure to down size the other file by the same %.
After printing, glue the two hemispheres together.
Put soil in the brainstem bottom. Add seeds (or plant) and water.
Place the top on, and arrange the leaves periodically to go through the brain crevices
