Summary
Great design but I wanted a few modifications.
I thinned the section where the mounting screw goes, so I could use the original screws and still have thread engagement similar to the original hinge.
I made a new bottom-side hinge by extending the length of the hinge. I found the original length was pivoting at the mounting bolts when it was holding the lid open. A longer length seemed to stabilize it.
I reshaped it slightly since I was already editing the model.
As the photo shows, I didn't have hinge pins/bolts, so I used a piece of 12 gauge insulated copper wire (out of a piece of scrap Romex) and bent it to shape. It's been in use for a number of months in Hawaii, and no problems. (Bonus: The copper wire won't rust, like even cheap stainless hardware will here.)
