Based on a decorated vase found in a thrift store - see image. The thrift store vase is two feet tall, made of dark wood, and decorated with wavy vertical grooves. Here are two openSCAD versions made from a polygon that outlines half a cross section of the thrift store vase. Grooves were added with openSCAD commands. Two additional vases were created using code that enlarged the cross section of the starting polygon. OpenSCAD code is included.
MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation)
The openSCAD code is partially parametric. A description of the code is included with the program for those who would like to create other vases. Different grooves are given different colors to make experimentation easier
