I have ran dual 12032 blower fans in my Voron machines and wanted the same setup in my K1. So I made a duct for the left side.
What I used:
3x M3 heat inserts
2x M3x8mm screws
1x M3x12mm screw
26 gauge wire
JST SM 2.5mm pitch 2 pin connectors
1mm thick foam tape (between fan and panel for vibration)
12032 Blower Fan 24V
How I did it:
I taped both panels together and used the existing's right panel's holes as a guide to drill into the left panel.
Please make sure the 12032 blower fan you purchased has the same hole pattern first. Also make sure you orient the panels correctly before drilling because one of the corners on the blower fan does not have a screw hole. Double check what side of the panel the fan will sit thus where the three holes need to be.
I made a Y splitter using JST connectors that way I could keep the factory wiring intact (pictured). I ran the wires from the new fan up to the stepper motor and inside the cable raceway (routing pictured).
Print settings:
Supports needed (external only)
2 Walls
4 Top/Bottom
20% infill
🚨🚨This mod requires you drill holes in the left panel.
🚨🚨This mod might not be compatible with the K1 Max or a future Lidar upgrade on the K1 as the fan and the Lidar might make contact.
🚨🚨This mod will require connecting electrical components onto existing wiring. If you don't know what you're doing, please ask someone who does for help. I take no responsibility if you damage your machine or whatever worse may come of that...
Enjoy the extra cooling, faster overhang speeds and lower layer times.
