@zikat: Low cost additive manufacturing for parts and accessories in all industries. From toys and gadgets to cars and medical equipment, you can definitely find a 3d printable upgrade for your device. You may also 3d print whole items, regardless if you copied a design, scanned or designed it. You can even improve your 3d printers with low cost upgrades!

@Muppet365: I have designed bits to replace broken items and made tools like unique spanners that you just can't buy. I have a Moto Guzzi and designed and printed a spanner to get the unique oil cap off. I have printed loads or other Guzzi owners. I recently printed a calc collector that had broken on our tefal iron. If I didn't have a 3D printer the iron would have had to throw it away.

@Jeff Cheatham: As a designer, I would often work through a design and then have to commit to using my lathe and mill to machine whatever I had designed, often times finding a flaw part way through and having to go back to my design, fix the flaw, and then start over with machining the parts. Now I can just 3D print the parts, check them to ensure things are right, possibly make any corrections, and reprint.

@user7060873462: I'm a HVAC contractor, it's been awesome being able to make a parts that were obsolete or not available due to the market conditions. I also have been able to make parts for my hobbies. So with CAD and printer and multitude of filament it is very easy and flexible, fast to produce a part or even art.

@Dennis Kittel: It surely saves me many trips to the hardware and other stores and gives a retired guy hours of useful printing along with using my brain to create. Whenever wife says "i wish we had something to do........", my reply is "I can print that".

@Johnathan Cowdrick: For me, 3D printing gives me a creative outlet. I can use my creativity to make useful items or make things that make other people happy. it's very satisfying and fulfilling.

@Chad Johnson: 3D Prototyping vs. high dollar tooling and maching. Prototypes can now be produced using a fast and costs effective method. Injection molds cost a significant amount of money and time. Then you have metal maching which take less time and money but, are still no where as efficient and fast as 3D printing. 3D printing has changed the manufacturing industry by decreasing time from R&D to market.
