There seems little Sermoon V1 active user here, but anyways I want to share my little mod. All of it just a little improvement to create a better experience for me to use this printer.

Improving pause command
I usually do a simple filament swap mid-print. When using Cura slicer, it can be done using M52 with its quirk if you already tried it. This mod is just to simulate an LCD pause event (like actual manual touch input to the LCD pause button) via firmware. In that way the printer reliably executes the intended pause steps like parking the nozzle, record the temperature, correct pause screen, resuming steps, etc.
Add programmable "beep" sound
This printer is quite shy. It doesn't send any auditory notification when some event occurs. My frustration comes when I implement the automatic pause at a certain layer and the printer just quietly paused. There's no way I could know if I don't constantly check the printer. The buzzer in this printer is located in the LCD module so the M300 command needed to be converted to the corresponding LCD command to buzz the buzzer.

Add programmable status message (M117)
It was done by adding a new "text box" to the LCD firmware to accommodate the status message in the printing mode display. I mainly use this to verbose the current layer being printed, so I could estimate when the "pause at height" could happen.

Just some tweaks here and there.

PEI bed
It just sticks better, while giving some nice textured first layer if you're into it.

Note for LCD:

My printer comes with DACAI brand LCD but I replace it with a compatible DWIN LCD. The LCD mod only works with DWIN LCD because I edit the files using their software. I haven't been able to make the mod for DACAI LCD since I haven't found the English version of their HMI editor software.

Note in general:

It goes without saying, do at your own risk! It rarely happens that the re-flashing firmware could break the hardware. But the chances are never zero. If something happens you could always go back to the stock firmware by re-flashing it again.
