Creating a custom infill coaster is a surprisingly simple and fun project. By adjusting a few settings in Creality Print, you can turn a basic 3D model into a unique and stylish piece. This guide will walk you through the process step-by-step.

Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Upload Your STL File

Start by opening Creality Print and loading your chosen STL file for the coaster.

Step 2: Modify the Strength Properties

Once your model is on the build plate, navigate to the "Strength" settings menu. Here, you'll make two key adjustments:

Walls: These are the outer perimeters of your print.[1] For a sturdy coaster, a good starting point is 10 walls.

You can increase this to 15 or 20 for a thicker, more robust border. I found that using only 5 walls resulted in a print that was too thin and lacked consistency.

Top and Bottom Shell Layers: This is the most important step for creating the infill effect. You need to set both the Top Shell Layers and Bottom Shell Layers to zero.

Doing this removes the solid top and bottom surfaces, making the internal infill pattern visible.

Step 3: Choose Your Infill Pattern

With the top and bottom layers removed, the infill is now the star of the show. Go to the "Infill" menu to customize the look of your coaster:

Sparse Infill Percentage: This setting controls the density of the internal pattern.[4] A value between 15% and 30% is usually a great starting point for coasters, offering a good balance between visual appeal and structure.[5]

Sparse Infill Pattern: This is where you can get creative. Creality Print offers a variety of patterns that will define the final look of your coaster.
