Star Wars Han Solo Blastech DL-44 Blaster Build One of my favourite things to print is props from my favourite films. Star Wars is right up there, and I have printed quite a few weapons from the Star Wars universe and I would like to encourage others to do the same minus some of the pitfalls that I experienced, and I will put myself on hand to answer any questions you might have with your build. Builds like this are a fabulous way to get to know your printer and find out what they can do. 1. The model. There are loads of DL-44 models out there some great and some not so great. For me, there is only one to consider and that's the DL-44 by PortedtoReality at Thingiverserve https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1915956. This is a fantastic model and like the real thing is based on a German Mauser Broom Handle pistol. 2. The printing. Plan your prints and accept that it will take time so be patient as it will pay off 3. Post printing. You have just invested quite a few hours print time so take your time to put your build together. You don't need any special skills just put some thought into it. Take your time in rubbing your parts down to remove layer lines. 4. If using PLA you can use car primer as a base paint (rub down again) and then whatever topcoat colours in car paint (rattle cans) that you want to use. The only parts that I didn't print were the scop adjuster, glass rings and flash eliminator as I was going for the 'factory fresh look'. If you want some ideas for stress painting your build just hop onto google, there are thousands out there. 5. Sit back look at your masterpiece and enjoy There is plenty of room inside this model for electronics, arduino and the trigger moves too so it would be easy to add a microswitch. Put you build up here as well as any questions you may have about your build, and I will gladly help you along the way. We might even encourage Creality to start a Star Wars Challenge.
