Removing a completed print the wrong way can lead to damaged models, scratched build plates, or even broken tools. Here's how to safely remove your 3D prints without harming your printer or your hard work.

Let It Cool First

Most filaments (like PLA or PETG) contract slightly as they cool. If your print is sticking too tightly to the build surface, simply waiting 5-10 minutes after the bed cools can often cause the model to pop free or loosen enough for easy removal. Don't rush-patience can save your bed and your model.

Use the Right Tools

Avoid using sharp knives or screwdrivers that can scratch or gouge your build plate. Instead, use:

A thin, flat print removal spatula (often included with your printer)

A plastic scraper for delicate surfaces like PEI
