Hey there! I’m Josh, aka Iron3Dad! (Pronounced Ironed-Dad😜)

I am a Navy veteran, triathlete, girl dad, student, and self-proclaimed “garage engineer” on a mission to bring practical problem-solving and personal creativity to life through 3D printing.

My journey into 3D printing started not in a workshop, but on a race course. I needed a specific tool... one that wasn't locally available, to service my triathlon bike’s bottom bracket. So, I turned to the global maker community, had someone post reference photos on Reddit, reverse-engineered the part in Fusion360, and printed it just in time for race weekend. From that moment on, I was hooked.

Triathlete by Training. Maker by Obsession.

My triathlon journey started at Texas A&M! Since then, I’ve competed in multiple Ironman events, and my designs reflect that spirit! Resilient, custom-built, and always moving forward.

My early prints included:

• Bottom Bracket Tool (3D modeled from community photos)

• Aerobar Stack Risers for my old TREK Speed Concept (Triathlon bike)

• Front Wheel Trainer Block

• Saddle Fit Spacers & Custom Shims

Now, I blend that same mindset with educational toys for my daughter, garage mods for my gear, and prototypes that solve everyday frustrations.

My Printing Playground

I currently run:

2× Creality K2 Plus (The Fridge and The Other Fridge)

1× Creality Hi (The Ice Maker)

1× Ender 3 V1 (humble beginnings my friends...)

I print with TPU, ASA, PLA, PETG, PPA-CF, PA, PPS, PET-CF, PC, PC-ABS, and more!!! I love stress-testing new filament properties on actual gear, not just Benchies.

Why I Create

This platform isn’t just about posting files, it’s about sharing what those files mean. Every model here has a story, whether it’s helping my daughter learn numbers, pushing my limits on the bike, or simply making something I couldn’t find anywhere else.
