I built my first 3D printer about 9 years ago based on the makerbot. A challenge in the early days. I re-designed the plans to suit what I wanted at the time. All wood and bolt ons, as you can see. It taught me a lot about 3D printing. Things have moved on a lot since. Now, I use my heavily modified Ender 3 and the Cr10 salvaged from a skip. Also modified with the Ender 3 4.2.7 motherboard, which required some configuration in the Marlin code. I love the technology and tend to try things out. The printers have helped me to repair some of mybretro computer collection and even my dining table! I couldn't do without one. I like to be creative, so, I took the challenge of using the Ender 3 to print an 8 foot equivalent Alien head. The teeth are printed using the Halot One resin printer. Amazingly, with all this and the hundred or so retro computers around, my wife still loves me :).
