1. Lattice Eggs by @MjD

MjD’s Lattice Eggs are as fun as they are fragile.

My RWB Chainlink version used Soleyin Strawberry Milk, Matte White, and Ocean Blue - with nearly 500 color swaps handled by Creality’s CFS on my K2 Plus dubbed ‘The Fridge.’ I was swimming in filament yolk by the end of it… but totally worth it.

For something smoother, I did a second Chainlink egg in Matte Rose Stone, and that one turned out epic. Almost felt soft to the touch!

My daughter’s favorite? The Almond Purple + Matte White wicker-style egg. It’s delicate, clean, and screams spring.

The Celtic Knot version failed on me a few times when attempting color swaps, but printed beautifully in single-color Moonstone Soleyin PLA.

💡 Pro Tip: Stick to single-color prints unless you’ve got time and filament to spare - these are stunning but fragile. Treat ‘em like Fabergé eggs with a filament twist.

🐰 2. Modern Easter Bunny by @Sektor 7 Studios

This model is one of those “Why does this work so well?!” kind of prints.

It’s literally a stretched egg with a lattice shell and two ears on top — but the result? Epic. Minimal. Modern. This print got the most compliments by family members!

Sticking with Soleyinfilament, I printed the Size 2 version in:

🌑 Matte Moonstone

🌸 Matte Rose Stone

💎 Matte Fluorite

Take a Peep🐥 at the cover photo .gif of these three spinning for a nice example of their color transition. You’re welcome ;)

The color transitions with Soleyin’s matte gradient filaments gave each bunny its own personality — subtle, sleek, and super giftable.

On the technical side, this model was a great excuse to play with modifiers in Creality Print 6:

Applied fuzzy skin up to 115mm (for that cozy texture on the body)

Then turned it off for the ears (keeping those smooth and sharp)

For one of the Moonstone versions, I bumped up the durability with 3 walls, TSDM infill at 20%, and let’s just say... it doubles as a bludgeon in the hands of a toddler. 😅 No really... new dad here, still learning the parameters of toddler weaponry!

💡 Pro Tip: Use modifiers to give the body texture and the ears definition — this model is a great intro to slicing like a pro using Creality Print.

🧠 Dad Bonus: It now lives among our Easter decor. And yes, I may or may not have threatened to turn it into a chocolate mold next year.

🐇 3. Articulated Bunny by @McGybeer

Of course I had to print something by McGybeer — the flexi guru🦉 himself.

This was my very first articulated model, and honestly? I’m hooked now. Printing it in Soleyin Matte Rose Stone gave it this smooth, almost felt feeling finish that was perfect for the soft curves of the design.

The joints? Chef’s kiss. They moved right off the bed with zero cleanup required.

Only issue? I had a few minor Z-seam artifacts, but that was on me — not the model. I’ll fine-tune that in future prints.

Otherwise? ~~Sliced~~ ➝ Printed ➝ Wiggled.

It’s satisfying to hold, satisfying to fidget with, and satisfying to watch my daughter pick it up and immediately name it “Hop.”

💡 Pro Tip: If you’ve never done an articulated model before, start here. It prints cleanly, supports aren’t needed, and the wow factor is through the roof!

After trying McGybeer’s flexi bunny, I saw this one and instantly said:
“It’s like an articulated dragon… but it hops? Let’s goooo.”

I scaled it up slightly and printed it using a Soleyin tricolor filament combo:

💎 Matte Fluorite

⚪ Matte White

🌊 Ocean Blue

Then I took it even further by painting the eyes using Creality Print 6: Matte White sclera, Ocean Blue irises — and yeah, it took a bit of extra filament and patience, but it turned out amazing!

Added bonus? My mother-in-law complained that the first bunny didn’t have eye color...

So obviously, I took it as a challenge 💪

💡 Pro Tip: Painting small parts like eyes in Creality Print 6 is 100% doable — just takes a bit of time and filament control. Use the “Color Painting” mode with a zoomed-in preview.

🧠 Dad Bonus: After the first articulated bunny wowed the crowd, this one officially leveled me up from “modeling wizard” to “full-blown Disney Imagineer” in their eyes. Mission accomplished.

🧶 5. Knitted Egg by @Iron3D Dad (Me!)

This was my very first dive into texture-based modeling — and I’m proud to say, no constraints were harmed in the making of this egg.

I modeled it in Nomad Sculpt, using the lathe tool and displacement to simulate a knitted surface. For rendering, I stuck to Soleyin Almond Purple and a combo of Almond Purple & Light Green, which really brought out the subtle curves and thread detail.

Now, was it perfect? Nah.

The texture rises a little too high near the top, and the pattern softens a bit in the print — but that’s okay! The charm is in the imperfection. Also... Speed may be a litttttle bit too ambitious on the larger one.

This was a blast to make, and it opened the door for future sculpting work outside of Fusion360. And yes… I briefly tried this in Blender too — but my poor PC nearly took flight from thermal lift-off. 🚀

📏 6. The Perfect Egg (Defined by Universal Formula)

I wanted to design the perfect 3D printable egg — and this project hatched from three big goals:

1. Match the shape of a real egg

Turns out, most 3D eggs are either too round, too pointy, or just... odd.🙃 So I found a paper explaining the mathematical formulabehind a "universal egg shape" and used the diagram as a reference to model my own. 🤓 That’s right Mrs. Spooner (my 3rd grade math teacher), turns out I am more resourceful than you eggspected!

2. Make it functional

I wanted this egg to actually twist together like a candy capsule. Instead of using generic thread profiles, I learned how to use the “Tube Tool” in Fusion360 to generate smoother threads with cleaner inserts and better grip. No weird angled seams or jammed lids.

3. Achieve a molded-quality finish

The final print uses 3 walls, tuned seam placement, and just the right offsets to make it look like a molded product — even at 0.2mm layer height. Best part? Z-seam is practically invisible. I printed 16 test eggs dialing this in, using nearlyevery colorfrom Creality’s Soleyin Ultra PLA lineup.

💡 Pro Tip: If you’ve ever struggled with printable threads, this model can help you master the art of fitment. Plus, it’s a great geometry reference project.

🌈 Final Thoughts – Filament, Flow, and Family Vibes

All of these prints were made using Creality’s Soleyin Ultra PLA, and let me tell you… the stuff is a dream. Smooth extrusion, soft matte finish, and gradient transitions that make every layer pop.

I printed everything using my two Creality K2 Plus units(The Fridge and The Other Fridge)— pushing speeds of 200–300mm/s with a 0.6mm nozzle and 0.4mm nozzle.With tuned profiles and good cooling, these machines crushed it.
