Aquatic Dragons for the New Year To celebrate the 2024 Chinese New Year with Creality's contest, I embarked on a project to bring two dragons to life in my aquarium. Using my Ender 3 KE, I aimed to create these Flexi Dragons not just as decorations, but as vibrant inhabitants of their underwater realm. Printing Process: The adventure started with my Ender 3 KE. Tuning the printer for PETG took some time, but its water-resistant and UV-stable properties made it the perfect choice for my aquatic setup. Overcoming the challenges of adhesion and layer bonding required patience and precision, but the effort paid off with two dragons poised to make a splash. Materials: The choice of materials: OVERTURE Transparent Green PETG for its durability, aquatic suitability, and I thought it might work well in the aquarium. DURAMIC White Marble PLA Plus for its elegant, stone-like appearance which I thought would contrast with the dark substrate in the tank. These filaments brought the dragons to life, each contributing its unique qualities to the overall aesthetic. Post-processing involved drilling for buoyancy adjustment, trimming, and smoothing edges with a hot iron to ensure the safety of the tank's other inhabitants.
