Submerged Amphiptere Dragon For the Creality Chinese New Year contest, I've chosen the 'Amphiptere Flexible Baby Dragon' by 'The Dragon's Den' to introduce a mystical creature to the depths of my aquarium. This model, with its serpentine grace, is designed to bend and curve along the tank's floor, like a true denizen of the deep. Printing Process: On my Ender 3 KE, the printing of this dragon was an exploration in balance and weight. The fluorescent orange PLA from Creality was selected for its eye-catching glow. A heavier infill was crucial to counteract the natural buoyancy of PLA, a trial that took patience to fine-tune. Materials: The vividness of Creality's fluorescent orange PLA not only adds a burst of color but also ensures visibility against the backdrop of the aquarium. Its weighted infill strategy was pivotal, allowing the dragon to sink and settle among the aquatic scenery. Post-Processing: The Amphiptere dragon required minimal post-processing, staying true to its 'print-in-place' design. After printing, I focused on making it aquarium-safe — smoothing the edges and ensuring no sharp points remained that might harm the tank's residents. Now, the Amphiptere dragon rests on the aquarium bed, a beacon of fluorescent orange among the greens and blues, embodying the festive spirit of the Chinese New Year under the waves.
