Dear 3D printing hobbyists,

Have you encountered the following issues while using the Creality Box for printing such as unsmooth operation, printing stuttering, video stuttering, and poor printing quality? Or have you ever come across the following situation:

① When printing on the Creality Cloud app or Creality Cloud website, there is always a status showing that the slice download progress is 0%.

② When printing on the Creality Cloud app or Creality Cloud website, there is always a state showing that the printing progress is 99%;

When faced with these problems, your first reaction may be to restart the box, reconfigure the network, or even speculate that it is a system error. However, the situation is not so that simple! In fact, the TF card of the Creality Box may the key issue and source of all problems. This article will explain the reason why the TF card can be an issue and how to choose a TF card for your box.

Why do we need to change the TF card?

The Creality Box comes with a TF card when it leaves the factory, but this card is a beginner-level product. Its main function is to meet general storage needs, namely basic printing needs. When users have printing needs only, TF writing is not very frequent, so the requirements for TF cards are relatively simple.

However, if you have video recording or time-lapse recording needs, TF card writing will be very frequent, and the requirements for TF card writing performance and stability will be relatively high. If you still use a beginner-level product at this time, you may be able to use it normally, but you may also encounter problems such as video stuttering, incomplete video recording, and poor printing quality.

Therefore, if you have higher printing needs, such as time-lapse and playback recording needs, it is recommended that you use a TF card with video surveillance-level performance.

How to temporarily avoid the above problems?

If you temporarily do not have a TF card with high performance, how can you temporarily avoid the above printing problems? As we mentioned above, our original TF card can meet basic printing needs, so if you do not need video recording functions such as time-lapse or playback, you can temporarily disable these functions in the Creality Cloud app and only keep basic printing needs. This way, you will get better printing stability and avoid problems such as printing stuttering.

When recording printing videos, if the TF card's writing speed cannot keep up with the video's writing speed, it may cause printing stuttering, incomplete video recording, and even affect the quality and effect of printing.

What kind of TF card is more suitable for storing time-lapse, playback videos? Here is a recommendation for everyone.

A TF card with a capacity of 32GB or more, which has a large capacity and can accommodate longer video recordings.
It is recommended to use a TF card with a U1 or higher rating, which is more stable in performance for video surveillance.
If you encounter problems such as app stuttering, unsmooth operation, and incomplete video recording when using the Creality Box to control printing, it is recommended to check whether the problem is caused by poor TF card performance. If your situation is consistent with what we mentioned in this article, try changing to a high-quality TF card quickly, and maybe your problem will be solved!
In addition, if the TF card has been used for a long time, there may be disk fragmentation, which will cause a decrease in printing quality. At this time, you can try formatting the TF card on the Creality Cloud app and then reusing it.
