Outside of creating an in-depth presentation, I have decided to go this route, which I hope makes sense and provides useful information to you! I do have additional comments to make regarding this, but will post them a little later when time is more on my side. I already knew the answer to the following question based on common sense, experimentation and years of experience, but in order to help me prove my point, I posed this question to AI: "Assuming that a heated but not ventilated filament dryer with no fan circulating air, wouldn't it be more prudent to occasionally open the lid of the dryer to allow the moisture to escape considering that the point of the dryer is to dry the filament?" AI ANSWER: Why opening the lid can help (in non-ventilated dryers) A filament dryer without a fan still removes moisture, but the process is slower because: Heating the filament causes moisture inside the polymer to diffuse outward. That moisture then evaporates into the air inside the dryer. If the air inside becomes saturated, drying slows down. A fan would normally cycle the humid air across the filament and help expel it, but without airflow, the humidity inside the enclosure can build up. Opening the lid periodically releases that humid air, resetting the humidity gradient and allowing drying to continue efficiently. It’s similar to dehydrating food in a sealed container — if nothing flushes the moisture out, it stagnates.
