I've had my K1 max for about two weeks now and I haven't managed to successfully print anything larger than a standard Benchy. The main issue is bed adhesion, specifically because of baf Z-offset. Now I could try and calibrate for that, however I noticed it wasn't the same across the bed. Actually, the Z-offset only seems to be incorrect on roughly half the bed so calibrating that would probably not work and would probably lead to too much Z-offset in the areas where it was fine to begin with. So instead I took a good look at the entire printer and it's a bit of a mess what I've found... Photo#1: belts rub against this part. Photo#2: same part from above, it's not possible to adjust it so it's properly squared with the frame. Photo#3: Front left side with X-gantry all the way to the front. Photo#4: Front right side with the X-gantry in the same position, notice the 0.7mm gap. Photo#5 & 6: Underneath the printer some of the parts attached to the frame don't seem to touch the frame. Photo#7: This screw explains why! Yes it was like that when I located it. Photo#8: The screw attaching the chain to the hot end, notice the red threadlock. It's used so there is a lot less play in the fit with the chain because otherwise the chain would sag way too far. However there was also threadlock underneath the screw head which made it impossible for the chain to rotate around the screw like it's designed to. Photo#9: first layer Z-offset issue on one part of the print. Offset was fine 10cm away from this area Also noticed one of the Z-axis screws had about 0.5mm play which was a pain to fix. It's unfortunate this printer doesn't seem to be designed to be adjusted when parts don't align properly. I guess it might be done to avoid novice users from messing everything up but I think it also means this printer is scrap. I would expect better from a ~€900 device. It might be possible to fix the bed mesh issue with rooted firmware, but not things like belt rub etc.
